Austin Car Seat Check FAQ

Your car-seat check questions, answered.

Answers about at-home car-seat visits, online advice and preparing for your appointment.

Where can I get my car seat checked in Austin?
Local choices include Dell Children’s Kids in Cars, Austin Public Health events and other programs listed by Texas DSHS. Tiny Riders offers private at-home visits. Our Austin car-seat check guide helps you compare options and find current appointment information.
Can someone check my car seat at home?
Tiny Riders’ at-home service brings Sarah to your parked vehicle for a car-seat check and caregiver practice. The initial service area covers Cedar Park, North Austin and Round Rock. Contact Sarah to arrange a visit; ask Sarah about a visit.
How long does a car seat check take, and what does it cost?
Tiny Riders’ at-home visit is $89 for about 45 minutes, covering one car seat in one vehicle. Online planning and selection advice is $39 for about 30 minutes. Two or more setups need a custom quote.
Should my child be present?
Having your child present allows child-fit questions to be discussed using their current measurements. Expectant caregivers can prepare before their baby arrives, but that cannot check the fit on a child who is not present. Tell Sarah what you need before arranging a visit.
What should I have ready?
Have the car seat and vehicle available, along with their instruction manuals and your questions. An adult caregiver participates in the visit. Use a suitable space beside your parked vehicle. Our local guide links to Safe Kids’ appointment-preparation checklist.
Can you check more than one car seat?
Yes, as a custom visit. Each car-seat and vehicle combination is a setup. For two or more, ask Sarah for a custom quote before arranging a visit.
Do you serve Cedar Park and Round Rock?
Yes. Cedar Park, North Austin and Round Rock form the initial at-home service area. For another Austin-area location, ask Sarah whether a visit can be supported. There is no customer storefront.
Can you help before the baby is born?
Yes. A home visit can focus on preparing your car seat and practicing its use before your baby arrives. Online advice can help with planning and choosing a seat. Visits are arranged directly with Sarah.
Is online advice the same as an in-person check?
No. Online car seat advice covers planning, selection and product comparisons. It does not include a physical installation or child-fit check.
Are evenings or weekends available?
Starting appointment hours are Monday–Tuesday 1–5pm, Wednesday–Friday 5–8pm and Saturday–Sunday 9am–6pm, Austin/Central time. Availability may change; current openings are shown when booking. Contact Sarah to arrange an appointment.
Are there cancellation or no-show fees?
There is no cancellation or no-show fee at launch. Eligible prepaid services that do not take place receive a full refund, processed manually by Sarah without a separate customer request. See the cancellation and refund policy. Online payments are not currently available.
